How to Build a Cathedral

The Cathedral in the Night Training Institute takes place in Northampton, Massachusetts from Friday April 20 through Sunday 22, 2018 The Institute serves to train potential street ministers in the art of creating, participating in, or discovering what this radical tradition of Jesus is all about. Illuminating seminars, hands-on outdoor worship experiences, and dynamic conversations in Northampton's lively downtown, are sure to inspire.

Meet the Illuminators

Christopher Carlisle
An Episcopal priest for over thirty years, Chris Carlisle is co-founder of Cathedral in the Night, Greenfield, Director of the Building Bridges Veterans initiative of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, and Executive Producer of the "Street Stories" media project. Chris's greatest passions are writing and chasing after his kids.
Lance Humphrey
MINISTER
Lance Humphrey is a Licensed Minister with the UCC of Hampshire and Franklin Associations. He serves as Associate Pastor for United Congregational Church of Holyoke, and Faith and Ministry Leader for Cathedral in the Light, Greenfield. He lives with his family in Granby, Massachusetts and owns a business in Chicopee, MA. He loves to share God's grace with others and help them see and experience God wherever they are.
Stephanie Smith
PASTOR CITN NORTHAMPTON AND DIRECTOR OF CITN NORTHAMPTON COLLEGE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
A Lutheran (ELCA) pastor for fourteen years, Steph serves as our full-time pastor of Cathedral in the Night Northampton. Her work is based on the conviction that faith must be grounded in justice work as we are God's hands in the world.
The Rev. Jennifer Gregg
The Rev. Jennifer Gregg - An Episcopal priest, Jenny started Cathedral of the Beloved two years ago in downtown Pittsfield. When asked about what she loves best about serving this community, she responds; "The people. I love the laughter we share and the genuine authenticity. It's real and it's awesome even when it's challenging." Prior to this she served as the Associate Rector of St. Stephen's, Pittsfield for 9 years and was part of the founding board that began Berkshires Interfaith Organizing, a faith based community organizing group that works to create systemic change in Berkshire County. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Elmira College, and a Masters in Divinity from Berkley Divinity School at Yale University. She currently lives in Pittsfield Massachusetts with her husband, her daughter and her son.
Chad Wright
Chad Wright serves as the Cathedral in the light community partner coordinator and has a passion for community service. Chad is a veteran currently finishing up a Bachelors degree in social work at Elms College.
